The Newtongrange Community Explorers have been busy taking part in the Community Masterplan consultation. This involved everyone looking at what facilities we use in the town and what we think should be changed. We then went back to our own classes and asked them for feedback so the whole school has been involved!
We sent that away and then received the plans for the new village centre and village hub, we discussed this with Mr Lyall who took notes of all our comments and sent this away. Some of our concerns were that the new hub will not be big enough for the whole school to go to for the church service, that we will be losing the co-op and that it will take a long time to demolish and build.
Our next strand of work after Easter focuses on the new High School including a very special, and exciting, visit to the site in the near future!
